Difficult but fun puzzleJan 15, 2011

My wife and I took 2 weeks to finish this puzzle. We would work on it whenever we happened to pass it on our dining room table. Because of the multitude of colors and objects (birds and flowers), it is quite difficult; but that's what we want in an adult puzzle: a good challenge. The puzzle is very well made. The pieces are cut precisely, and they do not fall apart. I recommend this puzzle very highly for adults and children 12 and older.

Pretty tough puzzle for a 1000 piece since so many greens, flowers and bird/butterfly colors are similar. Plus it is a painting so colors change from one piece to the next fairly quickly. Took about two weeks working an hour or so each night. Pieces are loose fitting as others have mentioned. We may try another brand other than Ravensburger after this next 1500 piece (Neuschawnstein Castle) one. Please let me know if there are other good quality brands out there with a comment. No missing pieces - I have heard others mention this was a problem with Ravensburgers, but this one had them all.

I purchased this puzzle for my mother, who likes to do puzzles from time to time. My mother was already familiar with the high quality pieces of Ravensburger puzzles based on the 100 and 200 extra large piece puzzles that I've purchased for my 4 year old niece.
It quickly became a family puzzle when she started putting it together. Even I got involved for a while. When the puzzle was finally completed, she told me that she enjoyed it because there wasn't a large amount of same-color space and the photo art was colorful and visually appealing.
My only issue with this puzzle is that the assembled pieces seemed to be slightly loose compared to the extra large piece puzzles. A very minor issue. You may need a sheet of paper to prevent pre-assembled portions, assembled elsewhere on the table, from falling apart when you transfer them to the main puzzle.
This is an excellent puzzle if you don't mind pieces that are slightly loose after assembly, you don't need a "clear blue sky" challenge, and you prefer puzzles with colorful photo art. I highly recommend it.

This is even more lovely in person. It is such a nice past-time to watch the birds at the feeders outside the kitchen window and this puzzle captures it beautifully.

The colors are bright. I love all the different birds/flowers. Fun puzzle to put together because of the details. The pieces are slightly loose-fitting. Doesn't affect the quality, in my opinion.
