Fun until you get to the sky!Jan 06, 2012

I love James Christensen's artwork, and own many puzzles featuring them. My two favorites are Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes (not sure what that one's called), but I have been collecting others through the years.
This puzzle looked promising to me, and the price was certainly right! The first mistake I made was trying to assemble it on a card table. The long side of it makes it so that one edge easily gets pushed off while you're working on the other side. So I transferred it to a 6' table, discovering in the process that these pieces do NOT stay together when you move them (unlike some others). Major reassembly was needed at that point - luckily I'd only done the edges and some of the pink/purple part! So check the dimensions and make sure you start off with enough room (keeping in mind the 1,500 pieces that need a place to be until you place them).
After that, assembly went relatively quickly, with a few tricky parts but nothing too difficult . . . until all I had left was the starry sky. Oh. My. Goodness. Other than the moon and shooting comet, there is NO way to tell which piece belongs where - and there are a LOT of sky pieces. I was prepared to say I'd had my fun and be done with it, but my husband is a stick-to-it-to-the-finish kind of guy, so he separated them into the four types of shapes (which was the only saving grace - at least we knew what shape was needed), and proceeded to try every. single. one. of them in every spot. It reminded me of that scene in UHF with the blind man playing Rubik's Cube - "Is this it?" "Nope." "Is this it?" "Nope." It took the two of us a couple of days of many hours to get those stupid sky pieces in.
So, overall, the picture is beautiful and has a lot of interesting details - but be aware going in that the sky will take a LOT of time!

1500 piece puzzles are very challenging but also fun so that my favorite number count. by the way I ranked educational value 4 stars is the myth they put in it so got four star over the standard 3 stars i normally give a puzzle. As all puzzles train your mind for analytical thinking and for people beyond the need for educational like me and older also benefit on jigsaws puzzles not to learn analytical thinking but to maintain it
Fun with superstitions!Mar 11, 2012
By Gregory Wichmann While completing a decent quality paper, cut, and color puzzle learn about superstitions around the world. "Don't give away your power!" The sky will be very challenging as it is very black with similar shaped innies and outies. Do it last. (or sweep it into the box.)
Great puzzle!Feb 05, 2012

I bought this as a gift for my cousin. I spent quite a lot of time trying to find all the superstitions before wrapping it. I even but it on my wish list for myself. My cousin was very happy with it, and she says this is the best brand for jigsaw puzzles.
