Enjoyed this puzzle!Oct 04, 2010
By Professional shopper I wanted something to keep me occupied while I was home recovering from surgery last winter. Since I have loved puzzles since childhood I thought I'd purchase this one because of the high reviews. I thoroughly enjoyed this puzzle. It brought back memories of granny's kitchen. The colors are vivid and the pieces fit well. Yes, it's challenging, but that is what "puzzles" are supposed to be. I will definitely purchase this brand in the future.

This Puzzle is Not a ToyApr 22, 2011

When I first saw this 1,000-piece puzzle on Amazon I liked it so much that I ordered it, but neglected to notice that it measured 24 inch x 30 inch. So despite being 1,000 pieces, it did not fit on my terrific Jigboard! However, my ingenious daughter enlarged the Jigboard by adding an extension. This sort of worked. Once I realized the puzzle was so large, I did see, on one side of the box, that the pieces are extra large! I didn't see this noted anywhere in the puzzle's description, or would probably have been more careful and checked measurements before buying. Missing this, however, was my fault. The puzzle is fascinating, I loved seeing all the old kitchen items. However, I gave it only three stars because a lot of the pieces required "deburring" (removal of pieces of cardboard on bottom of piece) before they would fit. This should be done by the manufacturer, not the person working the puzzle. In addition, there are many pieces that fit together only with a curve, there is no actual interlocking of the pieces, and until the surrounding pieces are in place, these move all over the board! My final complaint is regarding the colors of the pieces making up the puzzle. They are not a good match for the picture, e.g., a lavender puzzle piece may appear off-white on the cover illustration. I love puzzles, and hoped to buy several more from White Mountain, but will not be doing so now.

Great puzzle. The picture kept us interested as we put it together. Not easy, for sure, but very satisfying when we finished. Detail in the picture was fun to discover as we got parts assembled. Would definitely buy other puzzles from this vendor.

By tpholland1 I cannot wait to start putting this puzzle together. I'm hoping to frame it for my "modern country" kitchen.
